Kathleen O’Brien, Ph.D. is a Professor and Clinical Psychology faculty member at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago (ISPP, Chicago). Dr. O’Brien is a Board certified forensic psychologist with interests in family law, social security disability and ethics. She holds a diplomate in the American Board of Forensic Psychology. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Forensic Psychology. She coordinates the Forensic concentration in the PsyD in Clinical Psychology degree program at ISPP, Chicago. She has extensive experience working with the Federal District and Circuit courts in northern Illinois as a private practitioner. She supervises a diagnostic and advanced practicum for doctoral students at ISPP, Chicago through the Domestic Relations Court for Cook County. She has past experience working with both adult and juvenile criminal matters and police psychology including consultation with the Chicago Police Department. She is the former Chair of the Illinois Psychological Association’s Ethics Committee, having served on that committee for ten years. She teaches courses in forensic psychology, ethics, assessment, biological bases of behavior, and psychopharmacology.
