Dr. Carl Davis received his PhD in Counseling Psychology at Syracuse University. He is a Professor in the Clinical Psychology program at the American School of Professional Psychology (ASPP) at Argosy University, Tampa. He teaches courses in professional issues and ethics, forensic psychology, and supervision and consultation. In supervising students’ research, he is comfortable with all traditional designs using methods of statistical inference.
Dr. Davis came to Argosy University, Tampa after 20 years of service on the Counseling Psychology Faculty of the University of Iowa. He served as Director of Training of the APA accredited program in Counseling Psychology, President of the Iowa Psychological Association and Chairperson of the Iowa Board of Psychology Examiners. He also served as Consulting Editor for Professional Psychology: Research and Practice and the Journal of Counseling Psychology.
Dr. Davis was a partner in Psychological Consultants, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, general practice in psychology, as well as a partner in Trail Preparations Services, a trial consulting and jury selection practice. He regularly engages in forensic consultation, including trial consultations and jury selection for state and national agencies as well as private Law Firms.
Additionally, Dr. Davis has interests in the areas of psychotherapeutic interventions and military psychology. He is a regular guest lecturer regarding careers in the Navy and psychologists in the military. He is professionally affiliated with the American Psychological Association.
