Core Course Requirements

Students in the EdD in Higher and Postsecondary Education degree program are required to complete eight core courses (24 credit hours).

Research Requirements

Students in the EdD in Higher and Postsecondary Education degree program complete a four course research sequence (12 credit hours).

Research Requirements—Students Are Required to Take the Following

 

R7001 - Introduction to Research Methods (3)
R7031 - Methods and Analysis of Quantitative Research (3)
R7035 - Methods and Analysis of Qualitative Research (3)

Students Choose One of the Following

 

E7034 - Critical Analysis of Problems and Issues in Education (3)
R7036 - Program Evaluation Methods (3)
R7037 - Survey Techniques (3)
R7038 - Action Research (3)
R7040 - Advanced Qualitative Methods (3)

Research Requirements—12 Credit Hours

 

Concentration Requirements

Students in the EdD in Higher and Postsecondary Education degree program are required to take four courses (12 credit hours) in one of the designated concentration areas:

  • Student Affairs and Services
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Interdisciplinary Studies
Dissertation Requirements

Students in the EdD in Higher and Postsecondary Education degree program complete a 12 credit hour dissertation sequence as outlined below.
