Foundation Course Requirements

Students are required to complete four foundation courses (see chart below) at the undergraduate level, show successful completion of academically equivalent coursework, pass a competency exam with 80% or better, or pass a self-paced course with an 80% or better for each of the subjects as provided by the University. Students must either complete the competency, or these courses or transfer in their equivalent. Students will be notified during the admission process if one or more of these courses are needed.

Notes:

Some students may begin the MBA degree program aware that they want to also pursue a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree at Argosy University. With the permission of the program chair, such students may replace two MBA core courses (specified below) with the doctoral equivalents. In such cases, the students will not be required to take or replace these courses when they move into the DBA degree program.

* Students approved for matriculation in the DBA degree program may replace this course with Solutions-Oriented Decision Models (B 7783).

† Students approved for matriculation in the DBA degree program may replace this course with Solutions Leadership (B 7777).

Concentration Requirements

Students enrolled in the MBA degree program are required to take four courses (12 credit hours) in one of the designated concentration areas or receive permission to develop a customized concentration.

Customized Professional Concentration Requirements

Students selecting this concentration work with a faculty advisor and the program chair to develop a learning contract tailored to individual needs. Students are required to take four courses (12 credit hours) focused on a particular theme and pre-approved by the program chair to complete the Customized Professional Concentration. The courses must be taken from the 6000-level course listings.
