Is Argosy University an accredited university?

Do you accept credits from other colleges?
Argosy University will review transcripts and make a decision.
Do your require GRE or GMAT scores?
The GRE and GMAT are not required as part of the Admissions process.
What is the difference between a regional and a national accreditation?
The regional and national accrediting agencies meet the same US DOE standards, are all recognized by the US DOE, and are eligible for federal student aid because of this recognition.
Regional and national accrediting agencies differ primarily in the approach they take in complying with US DOE standards, and both approaches are acceptable. Generally, the approach of the regionals is less prescriptive, or more subjective, while the approach of the nationals is more prescriptive, or less subjective. The regionals have based their accreditation model on the traditional responsibilities of teaching, research and service in higher education. The nationals continue a tradition of career focus in their educational model, focusing on measurable outcomes such as degree completion and job placement.
If you attend a nationally accredited institution, it is possible to transfer and get your credits accepted by a regionally accredited school. However, decisions about transfer of credit are made at the local level by the receiving colleges and universities. Each institution has its own policies governing the acceptance of credit from other institutions. Students seeking to transfer credits earned to another institution should contact the other institution to which they seek admission to inquire as to that institution’s policies on credit transfer.
Are my Argosy University credits transferable?
It is the student's responsibility to confirm whether or not credits will be accepted by another school and Argosy University does not imply, promise, or guarantee transferability of its credits to any other institution. In the U. S. higher education system, transferability of credit is always determined by the receiving institution, taking into account such factors as course content, grades, accreditation and licensing.
Will my credits from another university transfer in to Argosy University?
All transcripts and prior course work must be reviewed by the Argosy University admissions committee to ascertain if prior credits can be transferred.
When is the admissions deadline?
We have term and class starts throughout the year and we are on a rolling admissions process.
Do you offer grants or scholarships?
Undergraduate is yes, if eligible. Graduate, no grants (FAFSA rule), but we do offer scholarships if eligible.
Do you offer assistantships?
No, we are a practitioner-based university, rather than research.
Do you have on campus housing?
Some Argosy University campuses offer services to assist students find local housing. Please check with the Student Services office for your location.

Do you offer online or distance learning for the PsyD programs?
No, our PsyD program is fully on site, day classes.
Does your school offer the TOEFL exam?
No, we do not offer the TOEFL exam at any of our Argosy locations. The TOEFL test is offered in 2 testing formats: Internet-based test (IBT) and paper-based test (PBT). The format you take depends on your test center location. To register for the TOEFL and to find test locations and dates, please refer to the TOEFL ( test of English as a foreign language) website.

Are Military Benefits accepted?
Yes. Accepted benefit programs vary by state. It is recommended that the student speak with an Admissions Representative at the campus for further details.
Why should I choose Argosy over other more well know universities?
Argosy University works with students on an individual basis. Every student is important to us and as a result, our class sizes are relatively small.
When sending Letters of Recommendation, do I have to have the Recommendation Form filled out or is a traditional Letter of Recommendation acceptable?
Either the completed Recommendation Form or a traditional Letter of Recommendation is acceptable. It is the student's preference which to submit.
