Program Information

The Argosy University, Chicago Community Counseling degree program is designed to provide students with a sound foundation for the practice of community counseling, with a multifaceted focus on developmental and preventive mental health services.

The Master of Arts (MA) in Community Counseling degree program introduces students to the basic skills of counseling, integrating individual, group, family, and organizational interventions. This Argosy University, Chicago master’s degree program emphasizes development of the attitudes, knowledge, and skills required for the ethical provision of quality professional counseling services.

Last year, there were 51 graduates of Argosy University – Chicago’s master’s degree in Community Counseling program. The pass rate for graduates taking the NCE examination in 2012 was not calculated, due to insufficient data to allow for an accurate representative sample of the graduate pass rate. Of the admitted students, 70% graduate from the program in the expected time period and 62% of those program graduates responding to surveys who are actively seeking jobs are employed.

Eligibility for Licensure
Graduates of the Community Counseling degree program may wish to pursue licensure as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Illinois.
