DENVER, CO (Nov. 28, 2012) - Argosy University, Denver is pleased to announce that it has been granted a chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society of professional counseling and for professional counselors. The chapter is designated by the name Omega Sigma Phi.
“We are honored to establish a chapter of Chi Sigma Iota at Argosy University, Denver,” says Dr. April Young, faculty adviser for Omega Sigma Phi at the campus. “The chapter will reflect the quality of our students and the education they are receiving in counseling.”
Chi Sigma Iota was established in 1985 through the efforts of leaders in the profession of counseling whose desire was to provide recognition for outstanding achievement as well as outstanding service within the profession. Chi Sigma Iota was created for counselors-in-training, counselor educators, and professional counselors whose career commitment is to research and service through professional counseling.
Chi Sigma Iota’s mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.
