The Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education program at Argosy University, Hawai‘i is designed for students desiring to enhance professional competence as educational leaders, instructors, or consultants in academic affairs, student affairs, or student services divisions within community colleges, technical schools and institutes, four-year colleges and universities as well as government, military, religious, profit or nonprofit postsecondary educational organizations and divisions.

• Teaching and Learning
• Interdisciplinary Studies

The EdD in Higher and Postsecondary Education degree program is designed around four key learning areas.

Program Outcome One: Advance Social Justice and Transformative Practice
1.a Foster democratic and empowering environments that promote understanding and respect for diversity
1.b Cultivate the active engagement of diverse communities in social justice initiatives that enhance student development and learning
1.c Demonstrate critical reflection that strengthens or improves themselves, their institutions, and their professional community

Program Outcome Two: Design, implement, manage, and assess learning opportunities sensitive to stakeholder characteristics and collegiate and community environments

Program Outcome Three: Promote Organizational and Administrative Development
3.a Employ ethical and collaborative management and leadership practices appropriate to the field and role that assist institutions in accomplishing their mission
3.b Enhance the ability of institutions to provide safe and productive environments, to anticipate and prepare for change, crisis, and disruption

Program Outcome Four: Conduct Assessment, Evaluation, and Research
4.a Select and apply appropriate research methodology to assess needs and effectiveness
4.b Use assessment and research data to inform practice and administrative decisions
4.c Design and conduct a research study, and effectively communicate the results using a variety of media (e.g., written, oral, electronic).
