Argosy University Southern California Campuses Honor More Than 500 Graduates at Fall Commencement Ceremony This Friday

ORANGE, CA (Oct. 10, 2012) --   Argosy University is pleased to announce the fall commencement exercises for its Southern California campuses. The ceremony will take place on Friday, October 12, at 12:30 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center. More than 500 graduates from Argosy University’s Orange County, San Diego, Inland Empire and Los Angeles campuses will be honored.

The university will confer bachelor, masters and doctoral level degrees from its College of Business, College of Education, College of Health Sciences, College of Psychology & Behavioral Sciences and College of Undergraduate Studies.

Dr. Cathy Ferguson, educator, Olympic Gold Medalist, and CEO of the Girl Scouts of Central California, will serve as the keynote speaker. Dr. Ferguson has more than 20 years experience in the field of higher education and has served in numerous leadership roles with non-profit organizations such as Girls Incorporated of Delaware, Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula, American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), Disney GOALS, and Anaheim Memorial Hospital.

Along with her educational background, Dr. Ferguson is a past Olympic Gold medalist and has coached swimming at all levels including the Olympic level. She held five World Records during her swimming tenure and was nominated for the Sullivan Award. She has been elected into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, California State University, Long Beach Hall of Fame, Glendale College Hall of Fame, Helms Hall of Fame and Burbank High School Hall of Fame.

Dr. Ferguson is the past President of the Southern California Olympians and past Vice President of the United States Olympians. She served on the Preliminary Disciplinary Review Board appointed by the Delaware Supreme Court during her tenure in Delaware.
