TAMPA, FL May 24, 2013 Argosy University, Tampa and the National Institute for Social Media (NISM) are pleased to announce social media certification courses being offered at the university from June to August.
NISM’s “Becoming a Certified Social Media Strategist” course will be held at Argosy University, Tampa, located at 1403 N. Howard Ave., Tampa, FL 33607, Mondays, June 24 – August 26, from 5:30 pm – 9 pm.
Students who complete the course and achieve social media certification can apply to receive three course credits towards a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, business administration, psychology, or criminal justice through the College of Undergraduate Studies at Argosy University.
“Finding talented social media professionals is one of the top priorities of many businesses across the country,” said Eric Mills, president of the NISM. “Best practices in the business use of social media are emerging, and hiring managers are looking for qualified professionals. By partnering to combine a high quality social media education with a professional industry certification from the National Institute for Social Media, participants can set themselves apart from their peers and demonstrate their unique value to future employers.”
The NISM Social Media Strategist certification program validates the foundational skills required of professionals using social media. To achieve certification as a Social Media Strategist, participants complete the coursework and are required pass a certification exam covering the six primary content domains of general practitioners in social media: strategic planning; compliance and governance; project management; social media marketing; community management; and research and analysis. Certified professionals have demonstrated at least minimum levels of comprehension and mastery of essential social media best practices, and are able to apply them on the job with a marginal level of supervision.
