Argosy University, Atlanta Professor Named Counselor Educator of the Year

ATLANTA, GA (September 10, 2012) --   The Licensed Professional Counselor Association (LPCA-GA) of Georgia has recognized Argosy University, Atlanta professor Ruby Blow, NCC, LPC, BCC, CPCS as Counselor Educator of the Year.

In addition to her duties as an adjunct faculty member in the College of Psychology & Behavioral Sciences at Argosy University, Atlanta, Ruby specializes in counseling, coaching, supervision, consultation and professional development workshops for mental health professionals through Development Counts.

LPCA-GA is an organization that unites Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and future LPCs in the state of Georgia and represents the interests of Professional Counselors to both state and national legislators and to the Georgia Composite Licensing Board.

LPCA- GA raises public awareness about mental health issues and the role of LPCs, promotes ethical and professional standards for practice and licensure, and provides training and networking for its members.  LPCA is a state chapter of the American Mental Health Counselors Association.

Ruby is a licensed professional counselor, nationally certified counselor, board certified coach,  and certified professional counselor supervisor. She holds a Master of Arts Professional Counseling awarded in 1998 from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Atlanta and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Clemson University. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, National Board of Certified Counselors,   Prevention Alliance for Tobacco Control and Health and Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
