(LOS ANGELES, Calif. – May 15, 2012) Argosy University, Los Angeles is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Carolyn Miller as Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for the campus. Miller brings more than 20 years educational leadership experience to her new role.
Miller earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Syracuse University. After years in the banking and financial services industries, Miller made a career change and entered the field of education, teaching middle and high school math and science in Los Angeles. Inspired to further her education, Miller obtained a master’s degree in education and Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University.
From 2003 – 2009, Miller worked closely with Chicago’s then CEO of public schools, Arne Duncan (now Education Secretary for the United States), as the founder of the DeVry University Advantage Academy—an innovative public-private partnership between Chicago Public Schools and DeVry University. She is an advocate for equity in teaching and learning and demonstrates her commitment to the field as a leader, administrator, faculty member, researcher, writer and presenter.
