(DRAPER, Ut. – July 2, 2013) Argosy University, Salt Lake City is proud to announce that three members of the campus have received awards in the Education category for the 2013 Best of State Utah awards.
Within the Education category of the awards, Jennifer Solosko, Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy student, was named “Best of State” in the College/University student category. Adjunct Professor Paul Carver, MC, LCMHC was honored in the Adjunct Professor category. Elizabeth Fawcett, Ph.D., Vice President of Academic Affairs at Argosy University, Salt Lake City was named in the Administrator category of the awards.
The Best of State Awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah. By recognizing excellence in the community and sharing examples of success and triumph in so many worthy endeavors, the organization, “hopes all will be inspired to reach a little higher, to try a little harder, and to work a little smarter for their dreams and goals,” according to its Web site.
The Best of State Judges sought out individuals, businesses, and organizations that excel in their endeavors, use innovative approaches or methods and contribute to a better quality of life in Utah. Entries were judged based as follows:
- (50%) Achievement in the field of endeavor.
- (30%) Innovation or creativity in approaches, techniques, methods, or processes.
- (20%) Contribution to the quality of life in Utah.
According to the Best of State organization, candidates make Utah a better place. Community service, charitable contributions (financial or goods and services), family-friendly employment policies, environmentally sound practices or policies, increased employment opportunities, community beautification, education, contribution to a strong economy, and cultural contributions are just a few ways people and organizations make Utah a better place to live and work.
