Two Argosy University, Sarasota Counseling Programs Receive Continued Grant of Accreditation From CACREP

SARASOTA, Jan. 29, 2014 — The Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, has granted eight years continued accreditation to the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Doctor of Education in Counselor Education & Supervision programs at Argosy University, Sarasota.

CACREP accreditation is recognition that the programs’ quality meets the standards set by the counseling profession and is among the highest commendations that an academic program can receive in the counseling field. This is indeed a worthy achievement.

Earning a continued grant of programmatic accreditation with CACREP for our master’s and doctoral counseling programs is a testament to the quality and strength of the counseling programs at Argosy University, Sarasota,” says Campus President Dr. Sandra Wise.

We are proud to have our programs and faculty recognized for their work and diligence in guiding our students in the development of the attitudes, knowledge, and skills required for the ethical provision of quality professional counseling services in line with the rigorous standards of CACREP,” says Dr. Joffrey Suprina, chair of the counseling programs at the Sarasota campus and Interim Dean of the College of Behavioral Sciences at Argosy University.
