Dr. Lori R. Muskat earned a Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania and completed an APA-approved internship at Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine of New York University Medical Center, with an emphasis in neuropsychology. Prior to joining the faculty of the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Muskat provided clinical training and direct service at the Regents’ Center for Learning Disorders of the University of Georgia. She also served as the Associate Director of Eagle Hill Diagnostic Clinic, located in Greenwich, CT. Dr. Muskat teaches Cognitive Assessment, Child and Adolescent Assessment, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Assessment and Treatment of Diverse Populations, Diagnostic Seminar, and Advanced Seminar in Psychotherapy. Her areas of expertise include: neuropsychological assessment; differential diagnosis of learning disabilities, developmental disabilities and psychiatric conditions; psychotherapy; higher education disability consulting; working with diverse populations; and diversity training. A more recent interest includes human-animal interaction and animal-assisted therapies. Dr. Muskat assists in dolphin research as a co-investigator with The Dolphin Project. Dr. Muskat’s expertise in the areas of assessment, assessment training, and disability in education is recognized nationally. She is the lead author of the Instructor’s Manual to Dr. Jerome Sattler’s Assessment of Children: Behavioral, Social and Clinical Foundations, Fifth Edition and a Practice Briefs editor for the Journal of Post-Secondary Education and Disability. She also provides consultation to the Educational Testing Service. She has served as an expert witness in numerous education-related hearings as well. In addition to her faculty position, Dr. Muskat has maintained a part-time consulting practice for the past twenty-five years. A fellow of the Georgia Psychological Association, she currently serves as the Chair of the Task Force on Continuing Education in Diversity and is an active member of the Public Education and Legal and Legislative Committees.
