Dr. Slobig serves as the Program Dean of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago (ISPP, Chicago) and is an Associate Professor. Dr. Slobig has a wide range of clinical experience with child, adolescent, and adult populations in a variety of settings, including long-term and short-term outpatient psychotherapy, inpatient, residential, day treatment, crisis intervention, and community mental health. Dr. Slobig is particularly interested in a psychology and philosophy of mind called Intrapsychic Humanism, and she enjoys teaching the clinical applications of this model in psychotherapy seminars. Her other interests include group and organizational dynamics, group relations training, supervisory processes, and therapist development - especially as they pertain to personal growth and learning about diversity. Dr. Slobig maintains a small psychotherapy and consultation practice in Oak Park, Illinois. After completing her internship at Human Services, Inc. in Oakdale, Minnesota, a community mental health center serving Washington County, she did her post-doctoral training working with sexually aggressive, 6-12 year old boys at Maryville Academy. She joined the ISPP, Chicago faculty in 1997 as the director of the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program.
