Lianne T. S. Philhower, Psy.D., is a Hawai'i state licensed clinical psychologist and associate professor at Hawai'i School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Biology from the University in Oregon in 1989, her Master of Public Health Degree (M.P.H.) in Public Health Education from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in 1996, and her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from American Schools of Professional Psychology at Argosy University Hawai'i in 2003. Dr. Philhower is an Associate Professor for the Clinical Psychology Program at Hawai'i School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Hawai'i where she teaches courses in lifespan development, developmental psychopathology, cognitive behavioral theory and therapy, child psychotherapy, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapy, theory and application of self-care for therapists, and lifestyle management. Dr. Philhower has worked in community mental health organizations such as The Institute For Family Enrichment (TIFFE), and CARE Hawai'i, Parents and Children Together (PACT) where she has held positions of Consultant and Program Director. She provides consultation with the Primary School Adjustment Program (PSAP) at Aina Haina Elementary School and has worked in private practice and at the Hawai'i Center for Psychology as a licensed clinical psychologist. Her professional interests include creating wellness in health professionals and caregivers, self-care, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based interventions, and lifespan development.
