AUTAPS

Argosy University Therapeutic Assessment & Psychotherapy Services (AUTAPS) is dedicated to training the next generation of mental health professionals in the areas of psychological assessment and psychotherapy, with practices informed by psychological science, theory, and research. We are committed to providing psychological assessment services to adults, as well as psychotherapy to adults on an individual or couples basis.

Who We Are

We are affiliated with the PsyD in Clinical Psychology program at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Southern California. Our staff is composed of graduate students in clinical psychology, who are supervised by faculty members.

Services We Offer

  • Individual Psychotherapy
  • Couples Psychotherapy
  • Learning Disorder Testing
  • ADHD Testing
  • Other types of psychological testing (i.e. personality, diagnosis clarification, etc.)

Testing Process

  • Initial 50 minute intake interview
  • Typically 3-4 testing sessions
  • Feedback session to discuss testing results and recommendations
  • 50% of assessment fee is expected at the first session

Reasons to Seek Individual or Couples Support and Treatment:

Sadness, depression, hopelessness, anxiety, stress, panic, difficulties with personal connections, career difficulties or transitions, difficulties within a relationship, sexual concerns, body image issues, gender and identity issues, grief and loss, personal growth, procrastination, loss of creativity

Cost

  • Psychotherapy: $10 to $50 per 50 minute session based on sliding scale related to income
  • Psychological Assessment: $150 to $500 per assessment based on sliding scale related to income
  • Additional paperwork: Should additional paperwork be needed beyond the regular assessment process, a $25 administrative fee will be charged for these services

Q: How long does an assessment process take?
A: 4 to 6 weeks, provided that you are available for timely appointments

Q: Do you take legal or forensic cases for assessment or psychotherapy?
A: No

Q: Can I attend as many psychotherapy sessions as I want?
A: Yes, except that we’re closed for the month of August

Q: Can I resume therapy in September after the August break?
A: Yes, although you will likely be assigned a new therapist

Q: Will I be provided with a copy of my Assessment Report
A: Yes

Q: Do you take insurance or any other type of third party payment
A: No

Q: Will you take my minor child in psychotherapy or assessment
A: No, we only see adults

Q: Do you offer daycare for my child while I’m in session
A: No

Q: How early should I arrive for my session
A: 15 to 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork
