Letter From The Dean
Dear Prospective Student,
I’m delighted that you’ve shown interest in the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Northern Virginia (ASPP, Northern Virginia). Our Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program has been accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) for more than 15 years.
The program is designed to train practitioner-scholars to be proficient in the empirical and theoretical underpinnings of integrated behavioral health interventions while remaining perceptive to cultural, contextual, and socioeconomic environments of individuals and communities.
Aside from the rigorous curriculum of the program that prepares students for licensure, we also seek to engage their intellectual and relational capacities in addition to inviting them to experience a transformative relationship with both themselves and the world.
You’ll be joining a diverse community of students who are active, engaged, and socially conscious. Our outstanding professors and supervisors represent a comprehensive range of talent and perspectives, and they are committed to helping you fulfill your academic, life, and professional goals. We also offer an extensive network of clinical field placement opportunities and the chance for students to develop their clinical skills through our training programs and practicum experiences throughout the National Capital Area.
If you have questions about our program or about professional training in clinical psychology, or if you would like to discuss the admissions process, please contact our admissions representative, Katrina Holloway, at 703.688.3462.
We’re looking forward to helping you reach and surpass your potential.
Sincerely,
Michael D. Lynch, Ph.D., ABPP Dean and Program Chair
