I am pleased that you are interested in our Clinical Psychology programs here at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Northern Virginia (ASPP-DC). We are extremely proud of our faculty, alumni, and current students and of our institution’s teaching excellence, diverse academic environment, and community engagement.
Our faculty represent a breadth of perspectives and specific areas of expertise. This, combined with our rigorous curriculum and extensive network of clinical field placements, provides students many opportunities to pursue their particular interests. Our faculty and supervisors provide close mentoring while students develop their clinical skills through our clinical training programs and practicum experiences located throughout the National Captial Area. For more than 30 years, we have been training professional psychologists who have benefited from the unique value of the College of Clinical Psychology's emphasis on research-based practice. This practitioner-scholar model of training integrates sound scientific theory with the development of the skills and attitudes needed to be a clinical psychologist.
At ASPP-DC, we are committed to training psychologists who will have a positive impact in the world and on the field of psychology. Our programs are academically challenging while encouraging your development as a person and a professional. Our doctoral program in clinical psychology has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA) since 1999. Most recently, in 2009, it was reaccredited for seven years, the maximum length of reaccreditation.*
At ASPP-DC, we believe in high standards, faculty mentorship and opportunities to learn while you practice with experienced supervisors in the field. Our graduates are prepared to provide ethical and quality services in a variety of settings, and many of our alumni are engaged in work that has expanded the impact of psychology on the world.
