Time to Completion

The PsyD program is designed to be completed in 5 years. Time to completion may vary due to personal reasons that might arise or student success in completing program requirements in a timely manner.

A maximum of 10 graduate level courses (30 semester credit hours) from other academic institutions may be transferred into the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology degree program at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Northern Virginia. ASPP-NVa does not automatically transfer credits from graduate course work taken at other institutions. Students who have taken graduate courses elsewhere may petition to have these courses apply toward a transfer of courses in the curriculum. Implications of entering the program with credit for prior graduate work for time to completion vary by student.

Program Costs

Program costs are charged per credit hour. Not all fees are applied each semester which will result in some fluctuation in cost. The number of credits indicated is based on full time status. Each student’s cost structure may vary depending on the number of credits taken per semester.

Internship Placement

Although all students are expected to seek APA accredited internships, some students choose to do other internships (APPIC, CAPIC) based on their particular needs or interests.

Licensure

Consistent with the Commission on Accreditation’s implementing regulations, licensure rates are calculated using the number of students with known licensure over the total number of graduates. All students whose licensure status is unknown are counted as "unlicensed." Therefore the actual licensure rate of graduates may be higher than the number from the APA/COA formula.
