Letter From The Dean
Dear Prospective Student,
I’m delighted that you’ve shown interest in the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University (FSPP). Our Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and has played an integral role in preparing practitioner-scholars to address real needs and issues in their surrounding communities.
The program provides various opportunities for students to pursue their specific interests, including child and adolescent psychology, couples and family therapy, geropsychology, and neuropsychology. It is designed to train students to be proficient in the empirical and theoretical underpinnings of integrated behavioral health interventions while remaining sensitive to the cultural, contextual, and socioeconomic environments in which they serve.
The rigorous curriculum not only prepares students for licensure, but also seeks to engage their intellectual and relational capacities in addition to inviting them to experience a transformative relationship with both themselves and the world.
You’ll be joining a diverse community of students who are active, engaged, collaborative, and socially conscious. Our outstanding professors and supervisors represent a comprehensive range of talent and perspectives, and they are committed to helping you fulfill your academic, life, and professional goals. They’ll provide the mentoring and professional guidance you need while developing your clinical skills at the schools, hospitals, clinics, and social service agencies located in the Tampa and surrounding area.
If you have questions about our program or about professional training in clinical psychology, or if you would like to discuss the admissions process, please contact our admissions representative, Sarah Nobles, at 813.515.2169.
We’re looking forward to helping you reach and surpass your potential.
