The Doctor of Education (EdD) in Teaching and Learning is designed to prepare educators to be change agents and leaders in the P-12 setting, and to engage actively in their communities to foster the development of global citizens.
Why a Doctor of Education Degree in Teaching & Learning?
The EdD Teaching and Learning program is intended for individuals who are engaged in the practice of education in the P-12 setting. EdD in Teaching and Learning is designed within a practitioner-researcher framework and aims to prepare individuals to be professional and competent in curriculum, instruction, leadership, as well as the use of research and data for program decision making. Blending contemporary theory and practice, the program values the interdependence and emerging relationships among educational and social communities. The Doctor of Education in Teaching and Learning degree program is not intended to lead to certification or licensure.

The EdD in Teaching and Learning is designed within a practitioner-researcher framework. The program values the development of professional competence and interpersonal effectiveness to develop learning communities that are ethically and culturally responsive to all facets of a pluralistic society. Learning experiences across the program can foster students’ individuality, cultural awareness, social responsibility, and creative inquiry. The program can prepare students for engaging in the study of practice-based problems in education and data-driven decision making to generate real world solutions.
Accreditations
- The College of Education at Argosy University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The accreditation covers advanced educator preparation programs across all campuses of Argosy University and its online programs. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.
