Biography

Dr. Ritter is an Assistant Professor in Counseling at Argosy University, Atlanta. She is a licensed professional counselor and national certified counselor, serving as a counselor and supervisor over the past two decades. Dr. Ritter earned her Ph.D. in Counseling from Georgia State University with a concentration in Child and Family Counseling. She is the Founder and President of Effective Parenting, LLC. Dr. Ritter has many years of experience working with children and families as well as consulting and counseling services. Her book and DVD set, Come Play with Me!, teaches parents and caregivers how to use play therapy skills with children. Dr. Ritter’s primary research interest involves how to create environments that are more likely to help people become courageous and resilient. Her other areas of research interest include: Health, Wellness and Self-Care, Parenting/parent education, Play Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, Happiness, Courage and Resilience. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Ritter is also a certified Daring Way™ Facilitator and Consultant.
