Admissions Requirements
- Completion of an associate's degree or diploma in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution, a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the faculty and dean of the College of Health Sciences, or an appropriately certified foreign institution. A maximum of 78 lower division or 90 total credit hours may be transferred with grade of "C-"or better.
- Current registered unencumbered nursing license from the state in which the student intends to practice. Students must maintain a current license throughout the program.
- A minimum score on an Argosy University pre-approved English language proficiency test is required for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction as specified in Section Five, Admission Policies, English Language Proficiency Policy.
All applications for admission to the program must be submitted to the Admissions Department. An admissions representative will help interested students to complete the following documentation:
- Student Information Form
- Completed Application for Admission Form
- Official college transcript of a completed associate's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution or nationally accredited institution approved by the Dean of the College of Health Sciences. Proof of current registered nursing license from the state in which the student intends to practice
- Immunization records in states where applicable
Course List
Students enrolled in the BSN degree program are required to successfully complete 14 courses or 42 credit hours in General Education courses. General Education course requirements can be partially fulfilled by accepted transfer credit hours from the earned associate's degree.
The total credit hour requirements for each General Education Curriculum area are as follows:
- 6 credit hours in communications
- 6 credit hours in humanities
- 6 credit hours in social sciences
- 6 credit hours in natural science
- 6 credit hours in mathematics
- 12 credit hours in elective courses (which may be in any distribution area)
Students enrolled in the BSN degree completion program are required to complete 12 core courses (36 credit hours). It is recommended that students complete the courses in the order listed below.

Core Course Requirements—36 Credit Hours
Students enrolled in the BSN degree completion program are required to complete 12 credit hours of elective coursework which can be satisfied through transfer credit hours or additional coursework taken at Argosy University.
Students enrolled in the BSN degree program may transfer up to 30 credit hours of pre-licensure nursing coursework.
