About the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Degree at Argosy University, Chicago

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is a 60-credit hour degree program designed to help you build upon your master’s level competencies, skills, and knowledge. It is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)*.

Scheduled to enable busy professionals to balance the demands of career, family, and school, most coursework is offered in both blended and online formats for optimal flexibility. The DBA program can be completed in as little as 40 months. Classes are offered online and at our facilities in the heart of downtown Chicago. Small class sizes and a diverse student body combine to create a stimulating, collaborative learning environment.

The doctoral research segment of the Doctor of Business Administration program may focus on either traditional dissertation research or an applied business research project. In addition to a general DBA designation, the program offers concentration options in Management, Marketing, Accounting, and International Business. A customized professional concentration option is also offered.

Students are taught and mentored by accomplished faculty members, many who have received numerous professional honors and awards in the fields of teaching, research, consulting, and community service. Their scholarly works have been published in books, academic journals, and industry and professional association publications.

Beyond the classroom, students have an opportunity to participate in various management and leadership workshops, as well as on-campus professional networking and entrepreneurial events.

Distinguished Chicago DBA Alumni

Dr. Veronica Martinez earned her DBA with a concentration in Management from Argosy University, Chicago in 2015. She is employed by the City of Chicago, Department of Aviation as Manager of Airport Operations at Midway International Airport. A licensed pilot and U.S. Navy Gulf War veteran, Dr. Martinez is the author of journal articles in the International Journal of Business and Social Sciences and the International Journal of Education Research.

Dr. Amy Bedal successfully defended her dissertation in 2016. At 25, she was the youngest graduate to earn a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Argosy University. She holds a BA in Fashion Merchandising from The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago and an MA from Argosy University, Chicago. She currently works in marketing for a commercial flooring company.
