    The Argosy University, Hawai’i Library provides a variety of printed resources to support campus curricula and encourage life-long learning. It maintains a specialized collection of books, scholarly journals, audiovisuals, reference materials, dissertations, theses, and more. There is also access to electronic full-text journals, books, and other content specific to our program offerings.

Student resources

Our Student Services Department offers a variety of resources to help you during your time as a student at Argosy University. Contact us for more information about each of these services.

Tutoring

Tutors are available (at no charge) to provide ancillary support and help with select classes. Computer and software tutorials are also available 24/7 via the Campus Common.

Counseling

Available counseling services may include short-term counseling, consultation, and referral to community agencies. Local referral lists may also be available for counseling services we do not provide.

Health insurance

Optional health insurance is available to students through an outside agency. Students should contact our Student Services Department for information about obtaining this insurance.

Student activities

Argosy University offers a wide range of personal and professional opportunities designed to support educational programs and learning needs that are not available through courses or practicum. Offerings may include student government associations, lecture/workshop series, and special-interest groups.

Disability services

Argosy University provides accommodations to qualified students with disabilities. The Disability Services office assists qualified students with disabilities in acquiring reasonable and appropriate accommodations and in supporting equal access to services, programs and activities.

Students who seek reasonable accommodations should notify the Disabilities Services Coordinator in the Student Services Department of their specific limitations and, if known, their specific requested accommodations. Students will be asked to supply medical documentation of the need for accommodation. Classroom accommodations are not retroactive, but are effective only upon the student sharing approved accommodations with the instructor. Therefore, students are encouraged to request accommodations as early as feasible with the Disability Services Coordinator to allow for time to gather necessary documentation. If you have a concern or complaint in this regard, please contact the Disability Services Coordinator located in our Student Services Department. Complaints will be handled in accordance with the school’s Internal Grievance Procedure for Complaints of Discrimination and Harassment.

Hawaii’s Dr. Loretta Chen’s Book Featured in Harper’s Bazaar Singapore


Dr. Loretta Chen, adjunct faculty, Argosy University, Hawaii was featured in the article “6 Books by Local Female Authors to Read on International Women’s Day.” The story ran in Harper’s Bazaar Singapore and cited Chen’s book, Madonnas and Mavericks.

According to the feature, Loretta Chen interviews 17 popular Singaporean women who have “scaled the peaks and thrived in unexpected places.” The women include entrepreneurs Cynthia Chua and Tjin Lee, swimmer and Paralympic medalist Theresa Goh, and Singapore President Madam Halimah Yacob.

Argosy University, Hawaii Grad Alexandra Roth Named Eastern Regional Director of Travel Industry Sales for Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau

Alexandra Roth, who in 2016 earned a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration from Argosy University, Hawaii, was recently named the eastern regional director of travel industry sales for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. In her new position, she’ll represent The Hawaiian Islands in the midwest and east coast markets by working closely with travel agents, wholesalers, and industry partners.

 

During her time as a student, Roth received scholarships from Argosy University through the Miss Hawaii State Pageant System.

Dean Elected to Board of the Association of Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling

Dr. Joffrey S. Suprina, dean of the College of Counseling, Psychology, and Social Sciences (COCPSS) at Argosy University, has been elected to the Board of the Association of Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC).

 

ASERVIC is a division of the American Counseling Association. Their mission is to help counselors, supervisors, counselor educators, and counseling students competently integrate spiritual, ethical, and religious values into work with their clients.

Hawaii’s Dr. Joanne Kealoah Appointed to Hawaii state Health Coordinating Council

Dr. Joanne Kealoha, nursing program director at Argosy University, Hawaii was recently appointed to the Hawaii Statewide Health Coordinating Council.  The appointment was made by Hawaii governor David Y. Ige on December 12, 2017 and runs through June 30, 2021.

 

The Hawaii Statewide Health Coordinating Council is a 21-member panel that serves as an advisory council to the Hawaii State Department of Health.
