About the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree at Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a 30 credit hour degree program designed to accommodate both full-time working professionals and full-time students. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)*, our MBA degree program consists of 10 core courses, with significant focus on the behavioral aspects of organizations.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed to accommodate both full-time working professionals and full-time students. Students have the option of earning a 30 credit hour MBA, which focuses on the core learning that contemporary businesses look for, or a 36 credit hour MBA, which includes a concentration in Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, or Public Health.
Students can learn to identify challenges and opportunities, draw on the latest technology and information, use advanced analytical and planning approaches, and execute plans for leading positive change. They also have the opportunity to develop critical thinking and persuasive communication skills, strong technical knowledge, and a deep understanding of the human side of business.
Scheduled to enable busy professionals to balance the demands of career, family, and school, most coursework is offered in both blended and online formats. Campus classes are conducted at our Alameda campus. The program can be completed in as little as one year, and offers frequent start dates, with weeknight and weekend options, to provide optimal flexibility.
Our MBA program is designed to serve the needs of talented students, regardless of their undergraduate degrees. The College of Business welcomes and encourages students from diverse academic backgrounds. Students engage with an accomplished faculty, many of whom have been published and received awards and honors for their work in teaching, research and consulting.
For all students, the MBA degree program culminates in an applied Capstone project that requires students to demonstrate proficiency in core business competencies.
What knowledge and skills can I gain from completing the Master of Business Administration Program?Students can learn and develop a variety of skills, including qualitative and quantitative research skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and extensive knowledge of concepts, issues, and practices within their chosen concentration areas. They also have the opportunity to develop strong interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills, as well as extensive leadership skills that prove valuable within groups, organizations, and companies.
Our MBA students can participate in on-campus business networking and entrepreneurial events, as well as management and leadership workshops, special projects, case studies, and competitions. They also have opportunities to gain valuable experience by providing complimentary business consulting to local businesses.
