The Master of Arts (MA) in School Counseling program at Argosy University, Sarasota is a 51- credit hour program, including nine credits of field work. The program offers a flexible night and weekend class schedule that is ideal for working professionals who want to pursue a postgraduate degree, while balancing the demands of career, family, and school.

The program is approved by the Florida Department of Education and meets certification requirements for the state of Florida.* Tuition partnership rates are available to employees of eligible school districts within the State of Florida. Students who do not have a valid teaching certificate issued by a U.S. territory or state are required to pass a general knowledge test, administered through the State of Florida, within one semester after beginning the Master of Arts (MA) in School Counseling program.

Prior to graduation, students must successfully pass the Florida Teacher Certification Exam for Guidance Counselors (FTCE). Upon program completion, students may request a transcript review by the Florida Department of Education for certification in Guidance and Counseling (grades K-12) in the state of Florida.
