Located in the Rosslyn area of Arlington, Virginia, our campus is a short distance from downtown Washington DC.

The Psychology programs offered at Argosy University include certificate and degree programs in fields such as Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and Forensic Psychology. Courses offer both work inside the classroom as well hands-on experience working with mental health professionals.

The Counselor Education program educates its students in post graduate degrees in Counselor Education & Supervision and Community Counseling. The curriculum in these programs teaches students the foundations of operating as advanced educators, practitioners, and supervisors.

The Education programs offered at Argosy University include upper level degrees in Community College Executive Leadership, Educational Leadership, and Instructional Leadership, training graduates to effectively operate both inside and outside of the classroom.

Argosy University’s Business education programs offers students certificate, bachelor’s and post graduate degrees in all areas of the business world, including Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, and more.

Individuals interested in learning more about the American Criminal Justice System can work towards a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice. Founded in the core values of communication, case development, and research, this program's curriculum educates students in elements in the world of criminal justice.

The Liberal Arts program at Argosy University, Washington DC offers students a venue to develop their abilities in the basic academic areas while enabling them to pursue a higher education after acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts. Offering core courses which reinforce the foundations of education, this program is equal parts involved and accessible.

    The Argosy University, Washington DC Library provides a variety of printed resources to support campus curricula and encourage life-long learning. It maintains a specialized collection of books, scholarly journals, audiovisuals, reference materials, dissertations, theses, and more. There is also access to electronic full-text journals, books, and other content specific to our program offerings.

Student resources

Our Student Services Department offers a variety of resources to help you during your time as a student at Argosy University. Contact us for more information about each of these services.

Tutoring

Tutors are available (at no charge) to provide ancillary support and help with select classes. Computer and software tutorials are also available 24/7 via the Campus Common.

Counseling

Available counseling services may include short-term counseling, consultation, and referral to community agencies. Local referral lists may also be available for counseling services we do not provide.

Health insurance

Optional health insurance is available to students through an outside agency. Students should contact our Student Services Department for information about obtaining this insurance.

Student activities

Argosy University offers a wide range of personal and professional opportunities designed to support educational programs and learning needs that are not available through courses or practicum. Offerings may include student government associations, lecture/workshop series, and special-interest groups.

Disability services

Argosy University provides accommodations to qualified students with disabilities. The Disability Services office assists qualified students with disabilities in acquiring reasonable and appropriate accommodations and in supporting equal access to services, programs and activities.

Students who seek reasonable accommodations should notify the Disabilities Services Coordinator in the Student Services Department of their specific limitations and, if known, their specific requested accommodations. Students will be asked to supply medical documentation of the need for accommodation. Classroom accommodations are not retroactive, but are effective only upon the student sharing approved accommodations with the instructor. Therefore, students are encouraged to request accommodations as early as feasible with the Disability Services Coordinator to allow for time to gather necessary documentation. If you have a concern or complaint in this regard, please contact the Disability Services Coordinator located in our Student Services Department. Complaints will be handled in accordance with the school’s Internal Grievance Procedure for Complaints of Discrimination and Harassment.

Washington Campus Celebrates Constitution Day

 

The Argosy University, Washington, DC campus recently held its annual Constitution Day celebration. Faculty, staff, and students were greeted at the school’s seventh floor vestibule with a festive table decorated with flags—and a life size copy of the constitution was on display. Everyone enjoyed refreshments in the form of red, white, and blue cupcakes.

Dr. Nahid Aziz Receives Anthony J. Marsella, Ph.D. Award for Peace and Justice by Psychologists for Social Responsibility

Nahid Aziz, Psy.D., is the 2016 recipient of the Anthony J. Marsella, Ph.D. Award for Peace and Justice by Psychologists for Social Responsibility (PsySR). Dr. Aziz is an associate professor of Psychology, American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Washington, DC.

Psychologists for Social Responsibility is an international organization dedicated to advancing peace and justice through the knowledge, application, and ethical foundations of psychology.  The award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated an enduring commitment to advancing the human condition through individual and collective acts of abiding courage and service. It was presented to Dr. Aziz at the American Psychological Association convention in Denver, Colorado on Thursday, August 4, 2016.

“It is a tremendous honor for me to receive this award, as it is given to individuals who have dedicated their lives to promote social justice, work in the area of human rights, peace and non-violence,” said Dr. Aziz. “I feel very proud to have received this award.”

The Anthony J. Marsella, Ph.D. Award for Peace and Justice was founded by friends, colleagues, and students of Professor Anthony J. Marsella. Anthony Marsella is an Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Hawaii. In the twelve years since its inception, the award has recognized fourteen eminent psychologists.
