THE GOALS OF THE WORKSHOP ARE:
• Learn various theories or traumatization process
• Better understand vicarious traumatization
• Better understand the history of the PTSD diagnosis
• Better Understand the PTSD and acute Stress Disorder diagnoses
• Explore evidence based treatment models for trauma treatment
• Explore essentials competencies of treating trauma

DR. PATRICK POWELL
Dr. Powell received his BS in Sociology from University of West Georgia, his MA in Community Counseling from Louisiana State University, and an EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision from
Argosy University, Atlanta. He has a clinical background providing treatment to children, adults, families, and sex offenders in non-profit and two private practice environments. He is a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as a licensed mental health counselor in Tennessee and Florida. He regularly presents at state, regional and national counseling conferences, has written several publications and co-authored a recent book on trauma: The Ten Core Competencies of Trauma, PTSD, Grief and Loss.
