Argosy University, Hawaii co-sponsored the 15th Annual International Summit on Assessing, Treating and Preventing Trauma (IVAT) across the Lifespan. Dr. Choy, associate professor at Argosy University, Hawaii, served as summit co-founder and co-chair of the Summit.
The event featured a children’s art contest, developed as a prevention effort to help children avoid hurting others—and to show Aloha. Artwork was based on the theme “No Hurting, Show Aloha” and the winner was Yunjung Rho. Yunjung earned a $10,000 tuition scholarship to Argosy University, Hawaii and a $200 Amazon Gift Card. 4 News covered the event.
The contest had four age group divisions from pre-K to 12th grade. All division winners were awarded their prizes by Hawaii’s First Lady, Mrs. Dawn Amano-Ige.
