Argosy University, Orange County and Tampa Instructors Quoted on Kars4Kids

Faculty members from Argosy University, Orange County and Argosy University, Tampa were recently quoted on Kars4Kids, an educational blog for parents, regarding ways in which parents can improve communication and their overall relationship with children—while parenting with a purpose. The interviews highlighted the fact that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services designated July as “Purposeful Parenting Month”

Dr. Mary Ann Franco, a licensed marriage and family therapist at Argosy University, Orange County, discussed positive parenting techniques and how they are a part of purposeful parenting, which embodies a specific set of goals and objectives for the child. “The most outstanding benefit of purposeful parenting would be that you attain your hopes, wishes and desires for your child in a very conscious, deliberate and intentional manner,” said Dr. Franco.

Dr. Steve O’Brien, a child behavior expert and associate professor at Argosy University, Tampa, also provided tips for parents to keep kids purposefully engaged this summer. From determining how much structure children need to scheduling summer activities, Dr. O’Brien provided positive parenting advice as part of Purposeful Parenting Month.
