Join Argosy University in partnership with The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for a workshop on Bipolar and Depression: From Diagnosis to Remission. Depression and Bipolar Awareness: From Diagnosis to Remission includes a one hour film that features medical experts and a panel of patients and family members talking about their experiences with depression and bipolar disorder, the benefits of
treatment, and the recovery process. The program includes Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; Dr. Paula Clayton, former AFSP Medical
Director; and Dr. John Greden, executive director of the University of Michigan Depression Center. After watching the film, viewers will hear from our guest speaker Marina Barbrosa, M.Ed-Psy who will speak further on her experience with Depression and Bipolar Disorder.

Marina Barbrosa, M.Ed-Psy was diagnosed with severe mental illness in 2005. For 2 years she experienced repeated hospitalizations for mania, psychosis, and suicidal behavior. Ms. Barbrosa’s illness
stabilized in 2007. By 2011, she was in full remission, and has enjoyed a fully medication free, healthy lifestyle since then. Ms. Barbrosa is an expert in learning and behavior psychology. She helps children
and adults with behavior change in the Orange County area. She is most proud of her recent accomplishments; becoming a speaker, author, and advocate for individuals with mental illness. Speaking
competitively and in forums across Orange County.
