Argosy University, Schaumburg will host a community mental health awareness fair on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11 am – 4 pm at the campus, located at 1000 N. Plaza Drive, Suite 324 in Schaumburg. The campus is partnering with the nonprofit Center for Health Services as fair sponsors.
At the event, attendees may receive complementary mental health screenings for depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, and drugs/alcohol.
Additionally, workshops will be offered in two tracks:
Workshops for mental health professionals
o Compassion fatigue
o Crisis intervention and de-escalation
o Psychosocial needs of chronically and terminally ill children
Workshops for parents, teens and community members
o Parenting skills
o Recognizing substance abuse in teens
o How to be safe on the internet
o Stress and chronic illness
Continuing education units will be available for mental health professionals and all workshops are offered at no cost.
