(Arlington, November 2015) The Graduate School of Business and Management at Argosy University, Washington, DC hosted a networking event on Saturday, October 24 for students and graduates, as well as prospective students and guests. The speaker, Julia Demkowski, made a presentation entitled “Management Consulting: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.”
Ms. Demkowski is the founder and CEO of Stanford Management Consulting. She has 25 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning and business operations. Her company focuses on consulting for small and medium sized businesses to develop and implement growth and profitability strategies. She discussed what management consulting is, reviewed the pros and cons for those who are considering a consulting career, and shared her experiences in starting and growing her company. Students were presented with a practical and realistic picture of what is involved in starting a successful management consulting business.
Ms. Demkowski is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, National Capital Region chapter. She serves as an informal mentor and advocate for the Argosy University, Washington, DC’s Student Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants.
The occasion also served as an opportunity to celebrate the accreditation of multiple business programs at Argosy University, Washington, DC by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The students were reminded of the value of this programmatic accreditation and the University’s focus on quality education that this represents.
