2015, Doctor of Education, Teaching and Learning, Argosy University, Online Programs
Annette Lyons is an Army veteran who served for over seven years, earning the title of E/6 SSG Staff Sergeant. Today, she works as a second grade teacher and team lead in the Atlanta Public School system. She was also appointed to the new district initiative called the ‘Go Team,’ to working with the community as the school transitions into a charter school system.
Annette says that she chose to pursue a doctoral degree because she enjoys pushing herself. “I set high expectations because I want my children to know that you can do anything you want if you have faith and work towards your goal. Never settle for less.”
She’s excited to note that she published a book based on her dissertation, titled The Impact of Administrators’ Bullying Behaviors on Teachers. And she adds that Argosy University is a school that kept its promise to her. “[My instructors helped me over my obstacles, even in my personal life. When I was sick, they called to check up on me. This was more than just a school for me. It was an experience.”
Annette, who in 2015 earned a Doctor of Education in Teaching and Learning from Argosy University, Online Programs, states that the school’s faculty and staff have impacted her in a positive way. “There was no time that I didn't feel like I couldn't move ahead. They were always there cheering me on. I really appreciate them for taking an interest in my future.”
