Argosy University, Atlanta’s Dr. Melinda Paige was recently interview live on Phil Hullett and Friends to discuss the topic of why people lie. Dr. Paige is an assistant professor in the College of Counseling, Psychology and Social Sciences at Argosy University, Atlanta. In the interview, Dr. Paige explains how lying is tied to stress, safety and survival. “It’s survival of the species,” said Paige. “We still have the same brains we had when we were Neanderthals, only we are in a higher complex society but we still form hierarchies and still perform in order to get our basic needs met.
