Chicago Grad Dr. Dena Williams Invites Students for Tour of Mental Health Transition Center

Dena Williams, who in 2014 earned a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Chicago, is the director for the Cook County Department of Corrections. Recently, she welcomed current students from Argosy University, Chicago, to her place of employment to provide a real-world glimpse into both her career and a psychology workplace.

 

In her current position, Dr. Williams oversees and helped to launch the Sheriff’s Office Mental Health Transition Center. She leads a team of clinicians at the Mental Health Transition Center where a variety of services are offered to higher functioning mentally ill detainees including abuse and mental health treatment, vocational skills training, and educational services.

 

Dr. Williams facilitated a tour of the Mental Health Transition Center for the students.
