Chicago’s Dr. Qi Chen Elected President of Chinese American Librarians Association

Argosy University, Chicago graduate Dr. Qi Chen, was recently elected as the President of the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA), an affiliate of the American Library Association.

 

Dr. Chen earned a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, Chicago, in 2006. Currently, Dr. Chen serves as the Library Director at Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, IN. Prior to that, Dr. Chen was the Area Library Director of Argosy University.

 

As the President of CALA, Dr. Chen also is also a member of the Leadership Academy of CALA. Recently, she delivered a talk on Leadership and Communication. Dr. Chen has given more than 20 presentations at various seminars and workshops in both US, China, and Taiwan.  In October 2016, Dr. Chen will be leading a group of eight Chinese American Librarians to present at the Annual Conference of Library Society of China, where Dr. Chen is invited as a distinguished guest and will deliver a keynote speech at the division session.
