Directs, Develops, and Performs Logistic Management for NAVAIR

Markale Adams-Williams is a civilian logistics management specialist at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in the Department of The Navy. “My primary roles consist of directing, developing and performing logistic management operations that involve planning, coordinating logistical actions required to support a specified mission, weapons systems or other designated programs,” he said.

Adams-Williams stated that the highest point of his career occurred when he was a direct assistant to the contracting Officer at Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). “I received numerous awards for high performance levels and received a specialized command coin presented by the Region Admiral of NAVFAC for my achievements,” he added.

He chose to attend Argosy University, San Diego because he wanted to advance his career. “The path I've taken is primarily within the business field but is very closely related to supply chain management,” he said. “I got to the position I'm in now by bettering myself mentally, educationally and by going far beyond expectations.” In addition to his work, Adams-Williams is a certified six sigma green belt (CSSGB). He is a United States Marine Corp veteran who served for over eight years, earning the rank of Sergeant.

According to Adams-Williams, his education provided the knowledge, tools and experience needed to advance his career momentum. “[Argosy University, San Diego] presented more opportunities and showed me that, through hard work and dedication, anything can be accomplished.” He specifically cited the benefit of professional instructors who work in the field. “They presented real life and relevant situations that strengthened me as a person and professional.”

Adams-Williams, who in 2017 earned a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration from Argosy University, San Diego, is planning to earn a Doctor in Business Administration in Business Administration. He recommends that current students visualize their dreams and follow them through to the end—adding that the biggest challenge he has faced was his fear of public speaking. “Through perseverance, I've overcome the odds and faced my fears.”
