Robert Eme, PhD, Professor of Clinical Psychology, the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Schaumburg recently published a review article titled, “Trait Impulsivity A Genetic Liability for Criminality.” The article appears in the the Symbiosis online journal.
The article focuses on two recent comprehensive reviews and meta-analyses showing that Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a substantial long-term risk factor for criminality. The analysis showed a number of possible explanations for this finding, including shared genetic liability. Dr. Eme’s paper reviews the research as a major model in developmental psychopathology for the development of antisocial behavior.
