Illinois Psychology Students, Alumni, and Faculty Present at IPA Annual Convention

Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Chicago recently participated in the Illinois Psychological Association (IPA) annual convention. Current students, faculty, and alumni presented poster and programs.

This year’s convention had the theme of “Trauma: Helping our Clients, our Communities and Ourselves.”

Current students Joey Babione and Rebecca Garza, along with Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Schaumburg student Bethany Rosner presented posters. Garza and Rosner won the award “outstanding poster presentation” for “EMDR and Vicarious Trauma: Our Clients and Ourselves.” EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing.

Dr. Susan Zoline, co-chair of the IPA ethics committee, chaired a panel that included members of the ethics committee and mental health attorney Scott Hammer. Dr. Zoline also presented a panel with students Michael Jones and Hayat Nadar titled “Unrecognized Trauma: Micro-Aggressions in Clinical Supervision and Psychotherapy.”

Faculty member Dr. Jenine Chiles, director of the Argosy University Psychological Services Center and director of the Lake Michigan Internship Consortium, presented a paper with alumni Dr. Manisha Dayal, Dr. Ed Fajardo and Dr. Chia-Lun Chung, titled “The Impact of Trauma on Four Distinct Populations.”

All students and alumni earned, or are working toward, a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology.
