Inland Empire Faculty Member Leads Talk at the Westside Rites of Passage Program

Dr. Jeshana Johnson, department chair, Counseling, Psychology and Social Sciences, Argosy University, Inland Empire recently helped young men at the Westside Rites of Passage Program in Moreno Valley to explore how their past and current relationships shaped who they are today. 

Dr. Johnson lead a discussion with the men, titled My Courage, Values, and Vulnerability in Relationship with Myself and Others. She discussed how to develop relationships based on personal values and goals and encouraged the participants to explore how their relationships and values are connected to both purpose and passion. 

She also suggested that the young men should discover a symbol that’s a daily reminder of their values and goals in relationships. Dr. Johnson also led the young mean in a creative activity of sculpting their life symbol (from playdough)—to represent who they are.
