The Mid Atlantic Internship Consortium (MAIC), an affiliated internship of the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Northern Virginia, recently celebrated its tenth commencement ceremony at the Argosy University, Northern Virginia campus. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of more than 100 interns from the program.
MAIC, an internship program that provides the final required training component for doctoral-level clinical psychologists, is a dedicated group of psychological service providers located in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. and is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC).
The year-long MAIC internship includes supervised clinical practice, instruction and professional development at one of the 10 consortium locations. It includes supervised clinical practice, instruction, and professional development at one of the 10 consortium locations. 27 slots will be available for 2,080 hour internship in the coming year. The goal is to prepare entry-level clinical psychologists, who exhibit the functional skills that are the foundations of clinical practice, to apply scientific methods as a foundation of clinical practice. These individuals are able to practice within the broad context of cultural diversity, ethics, and professional standards bases of behavior.
