Dr. Lacrecia Dangerfield is both a faculty member at Argosy University, Nashville, and a proud graduate of the school. She earned a Doctor of Education in Counselor Education & Supervision in 2014 and now teaches courses in career and lifestyle development within the College of Counseling, Psychology and Social Sciences.
Dangerfield is a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider who owns a consulting practice that specializes in counselor supervision, leadership development and employee assistance programs. She’s assisted with various populations but her passion is working as a clinician–practitioner. Dangerfield stated that she realized her focus when she worked as a program director, acting as a “matchmaker” by placing clients with counselors. She also takes pride in helping clinician-practitioners connect who they are to the work they do as a counselor.
"I really have enjoyed my experience at Argosy University, Nashville,” she added. “The connection between the students and the faculty is really what I enjoy about being part of the campus family. The opportunity to apply theory to practice has been demonstrated by faculty."
Before entering the counseling profession, Dr. Dangerfield worked in retail marketing, human resources and custodial banking. She’s worked as an outpatient counselor, community services supervisor and program director of counseling and community-based services.
