The Association for Play Therapy (APT) offers three credentials by which licensed mental health professionals and school counselors/psychologists might demonstrate and promote their specialized play therapy knowledge and training: Registered Play Therapist (RPT), Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), and School Based-Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT). This panel discussion will address the specific steps needed to achieve and maintain these play therapy credentials and allow time to answer questions from attendees. Featured guests include three Registered Play Therapists and Registered Play Therapist Supervisors available to discuss the qualifications needed for each credential.
Georgie Wisen Vincent - Georgie Wisen-Vincent is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Georgie helped create and coordinate the Loma Linda University Play Therapy Certificate Program, and she now specializes in play and creative arts therapies for children from the early years to adolescence. In addition to her private practice, Georgie enjoys teaching and supervising new therapists at the Loma Linda University School of Social Work
Jodi Smith – Jodi Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Jodi specializes in using play therapy in her clinical practice with clients of all ages and in various modalities. She is currently the Director of Norton-Fisher Child & Family Programs for West End Family Counseling. She also maintains a private practice in Claremont and is a part-time lecturer for USC School of Social Work.
Robin Christopherson – Robin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapist, and the current president of the California Association for Play Therapy. She has worked in private practice and non-profit community counseling centers with children, teens, adults and families and has extensive experience in working with trauma recovery.
