Professor Brian Sharpless, instructor, the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University | Northern Virginia, was recently interviewed for a Science Focus podcast regarding “exploding head syndrome.” Sharpless is a renowned expert on the topic and speaks frequently about the disorder that causes sufferers to hear a deafening bang just before they fall asleep.
According to the article, a Science Focus group as well as a group of scientists from Goldsmiths University, Harvard Medical School and Argosy University created a study to learn more about the syndrome. The results are expected to be published in late 2018 r in the year in BBC Focus magazine.
Prior to the release of the results, Dr. Sharpless, one of the scientists leading the study, discussed exploding head syndrome and the current research.
