Michael Kaschalk, who in 1993 earned an Associate in Specialized Technology in Visual Communications from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh recently served as the parade grand marshall at Nanty Glo, PA’s centennial celebration.
Michael, who grew up in Nanty Glo, has worked for Walt Disney Animation in California for 20 years. At the centennial, he gave a talk on “Bringing Nanty Glo Magic into Movies,” the story of how his hometown influenced his animation career.
He’s worked on feature films including Fantasia 2000, Tarzan, Atlantis, Home on the Range, Tangled, Tangled Ever After, Paperman, Wreck-It Ralph, and Frozen. He’s currently working on Gigantic, which is slated for release later in 2018.
