(CHICAGO, IL January 2016) – The Council of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has invited Neal S. Rubin, Ph.D., ABPP, Professor of Psychology at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago, to an appointment on the Committee on Scientific Freedom and Responsibility (CSFR), in the Scientific Rights and Responsibilities, Human Rights and Law Program.
The Committee and its staff have lead responsibility at AAAS for the application of science and technology to the promotion of human rights and documentation of human rights abuses, as well as for activities related to the ethical and legal issues associated with the conduct of research and its applications.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science, the largest general scientific society in the world, has been promoting scientific inquiry and the application of science in the public interest for over 150 years. Dr. Rubin's appointment is for a 3 year term.
Dr. Rubin stated, "I am honored to receive this prestigious appointment and I hope to contribute to promoting programs of science and technology in general and psychological science in particular that advance the cause of human rights for all persons and peoples, everywhere."
