Argosy University, Schaumburg and the Center for Health Services recently presented the 2nd Annual Mental Health Summit. The event focused on the opioid crisis, overdose awareness and prevention.
Congressman Peter Roskam, who represents the 6th District of Illinois in Washington, DC, discussed the work he is doing to address the opioid crisis in the Schaumburg region. Upon his return to Washington, the congressman hoped to “reach across the aisle” to share what Argosy University, Schaumburg is doing to prepare students to work with clients struggling with opioid addiction.
Following the event, guest speaker Chris Reed spoke to news station WGN (9). Reed was commended for the work he’s accomplished through his addiction recovery program, New Directions.
Over 50 people attended the Mental Health Summit.
